Xinhua News Agency, Geneva, January 2, on the eve of the 50th birthday of “car King” Michael Schumacher, his family issued a statement on social networks to thank car fans, saying Schumacher was getting the best care, however, no information about its recovery was disclosed.
Schumacher, born on January 3, 1969, once won the championship of drivers in Formula One (F1) racing career in the world. On December 29, 2013, he had an accident while skiing at the Merribel ski resort in France. He accidentally fell on the slide exterior domain and collided with a rock on the right side of his head. Although he was wearing a helmet, he still caused serious cranial damage. Since then, he has been recuperating in his home in Switzerland.
Schumacher’s family said in this statement: “We are very happy to celebrate Michael’s 50th birthday with you tomorrow. We sincerely thank you for being with us.”
The statement did not disclose Schumacher’s recovery, but wrote: “Everyone can rest assured that he is receiving the best care and we are doing our best to help him. Please understand that in order to respect Michael’s wishes, we will continue to regard sensitive matters such as health as privacy. At the same time, thank you very much for your friendship and wish you a healthy and happy year 2019.”
