Xinhua News Agency reporter Zhou Xin

on December 31st, Innsbruck, Austria, snowed heavily and visibility was very low, the cross-border alpine skiing team training here continues to “soak” in the snow field, and the children welcome the new year with high-quality training.

The leader of Song Yun, who led the team, introduced in a telephone interview with Xinhua News Agency that the cross-border cross-item alpine skiing team was divided into two groups, the Austrian group of 30 athletes, trained in Innsbruck, called the “Sean group”, several British coaches are at the helm; The German group has 35 athletes trained in Munich, all of whom are German coaches, called “Michelle Group”. Due to the large number of athletes, they are not suitable for training together, so they are temporarily trained in two places. After three to five months of winter training, more excellent athletes will be selected to go to Australia for the next stage of snow training.

How to Practice-everything starts from scratch

many people wonder how cross-border and cross-item athletes learn brand-new sports.

“Everything starts from scratch. This is a brand new and unprecedented challenge. Everyone has strong confidence in himself and devotes himself to training with high enthusiasm.” Song Yun introduced.

Sean group arrived in Austria for training on November 30 for 3 months. It has been a month now. According to the training plan formulated by foreign teachers, the team members conduct snow training from 08:30 A.M. to 12 and from 1 pm to 02:30 every day.

Athletes learn from the most basic action techniques, plough sliding, turning, etc., and translate them in Chinese to give detailed explanations. Video analysis is conducted every week, in the form of image presentation, athletes can see their training status from the video, and foreign teachers can make targeted evaluations.

Land training is also an important part of daily training. After completing the snow training every day, the training of physical fitness, core strength and explosive force will be carried out from 03:30 P.M. to 5, and on weekends.

“After this month’s training, foreign teachers think that the performance of athletes is much higher than expected, and everyone has entered the primary competitive level.” Song Yun said.

Can the competition-debut morale

on December 27, the team members of the Sean group ushered in the first competition-the Salamon Junior Championship, which is a regional competition with 270 athletes participating in the competition, the players come from Austria, Britain and China. As Austria is a traditional power of alpine skiing, this competition has a certain influence in the World Youth Alpine skiing industry, and there are many masters participating in the competition.

“We sent five school-age players to participate in the U15 level competition, which was intended to increase experience and feel the competition. As a result, the children performed very well, beyond the imagination of foreign teachers-Peng Yalan won the fifth place in the women’s group; Xia Citic also performed well in the men’s group.”

Foreign teachers think that the players in this competition have mastered the basic competition techniques such as snow cutting and inner inclination. Considering that they started skiing for less than 2 months, while most of the other contestants are skiing since childhood. I believe that after a long period of competition, they will learn to integrate technology into the competition, and their level will be further improved.

“Competition is one of the methods to test the training effect. The performance of the players inspired everyone’s morale and strengthened our confidence. We must continue to manage the team strictly and effectively to ensure that the team is united and trained hard.” Song Yun said.

What to do after training-learning experience is the most important

athletes come to foreign countries. In addition to special training every day, they also experience different cultures and learn foreign languages. Three translators serve as teachers every week and teach ice and snow related knowledge in English to help everyone better understand this sport and communicate with foreign teachers more effectively.

During the Christmas Festival of Western traditional festivals, the leaders of the General Administration of Sports gave great care to the front team and specially entrusted the resident Hotel to carefully prepare Christmas gifts for every athlete and staff; after staying in the Austrian hotel, the whole team also had a deep friendship with the owner of the hotel and gave the team a very precious gift: in 1976, the third hockey player in Innsbruck Winter Olympics signed the club and official ball; At that time, the German team who participated in the ice hockey competition for the first time won the third place without being optimistic, known as the Innsbruck miracle “.

The German boss also encouraged the team members to train hard and create his own “Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics Miracle” through this good moral “. This is a kind of hope and inheritance. As a team leader, Song Yun gave the other party a very valuable collection of ancient coin Chinese collections.

“This is the best cultural exchange, allowing athletes to gain more friendship, mutual aid and love while training in Austria, and to greet 2019 more confidently!” Song Yun said.
